On June 6-7, Yahad Research Director Patrice Bensimon and Yahad Research Fellow Marie Moutier, held a teacher training workshop on the Holocaust by bullets for 16 teachers from the School District of Palm Beach County. The workshop focused on the various aspects of our work, introduced participants to excerpts from video interviews with the last eyewitnesses to the crime, and discussed the main steps of the Holocaust by bullets that can be found in other genocides. The workshop also provided the opportunity to introduce participants to the study guide on the Holocaust by bullets, a teaching tool we developed in partnership with the Florida Holocaust Museum. Commenting on the training workshop, one of the participants told our team: “For all that we learn about the Holocaust, this was the first time my eyes were opened to the scale of the killings by the Einsatzgruppen. This training was phenomenal.”
