TESTIMONY: Nina saw the prisoners of war eating corpses. She recounted the condition of the detention of prisoners to our team. “The prisoners cooked parts of human flesh because they didn’t have anything to eat.”

BASIC INFO: A Yahad team carried out an investigation in the Sumy region of Eastern Ukraine. With the help of the witnesses we met, we were able to investigate the fate of the regions Jews, as well as the that of Soviet prisoners of war and Ukrainian villagers, who were also victims of the Nazi occupation.

Over the course of 17 days of research, our team interviewed 42 witnesses and identified 20 mass graves.
