From March 22-23, Yahad-In Unum participated in the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s [IHRA] conference on “As Mass Murder Began: Remembering and Identifying the Killing Sites of Summer-Fall 1941” in Vilnius, Lithuania. As part of the conference’s workshop on identifying the killing sites, Yahad Deputy Research Director Michal Chojak held a presentation on Yahad’s methodology as well as raised the challenges Yahad has faced with the gaps in the archives and the disappearance of witnesses as time goes on. During the “Marketplace” where participants were able to exchange information about their organizations, Michal Chojak provided information about all of Yahad’s educational tools.
